2024 Spotlight food partners

The Open Door is a hunger relief organization dedicated to ending local hunger through access to healthy food. Through its collective programs, The Open Door serves more than 15,000 Dakota County residents each month and distributes over 3 million pounds of food annually, 70% of which is fresh and/or perishable. Clients are able to access healthy food choices through a fixed-site food pantry in Eagan, multiple Mobile Pantry sites, the Mobile Lunch Box, and the Garden To Table program.

CROSS Services is a non-profit 501(c)(3) social services organization. Moreover, we assist local families and individuals in need, with an emphasis on ending hunger through access to healthy food. We serve Rogers, Maple Grove, Osseo, Corcoran, Dayton, and Champlin communities of Minnesota. CROSS Services is supported by community donations and volunteerism. Our organization is also governed by a volunteer board of directors.

The New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf is a volunteer-run organization that provides food, as needed, to families and individuals monthly. Families/individuals can utilize the food shelf once per calendar month. The New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf is also a registered agent of the NAPS program(Nutrition Assistance Programs for Seniors). The New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf distributes food Monday and Wednesdays from 12:00 PM to 2:45 PM.

The Outreach Food Shelf is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to feeding the hungry in its service area through an efficient system of collection and distribution of food to individuals, and striving to preserve dignity and extending respect to all clients in Douglas County. The Food Shelf is 100% staffed by volunteers, and Outreach now has a mobile food pantry in operation as well.

The only food bank in the state of North Dakota, the Great Plains Food Bank recovers food that otherwise would go to waste from a range of food industry partners and through its programs and services distributes it to those in need throughout North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. Working with volunteers, food and financial donors, community champions and advocates, we are committed to serving the people in our region each day. With your help, we can achieve our goal of a hunger-free North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. The Great Plains Food Bank works as a distributer to over 200 partner food pantries, shelters and soup kitchens across North Dakota and Clay County, Minn. On average, the Great Plains Food Bank supplies 80 percent of the food distributed by our food pantry network. This network provides needed food assistance to more than 10,000 households each month.
